Helena Eskildson is obsessed with Vikings and Norse Mythology. Neither Helena nor her sister knows they are Freya's daughters - Valkyries, the shield maidens to Odin.

When her obsession leads her to a remote site at Roskilde and it's two monolithic rune stones, her destiny is awakened.

While the team wages a battle between a cursed site and a sociopathic killer, time is ticking closer to Ragnarok.

Will her friends be able to save her before the gjallerhorn sounds?

He felt he had the favor of the Norns, the three goddesses associated with destiny, that were akin to the Greek gods of fate.
Having the favor of the gods meant success in his goals. He was destined to be Lif, the last man standing, the lone man that would repopulate the earth after Ragnarok. In essence, he would become the new Adam.
The rituals were necessary, an integral part of the process before using the key. Unfolding the linen handkerchief carefully, the ancient bronze key looked nothing like what most would think of as a key. A circular piece, about six inches in diameter spanned from his thumb to the tip of his middle finger. Runic writings along the outside edge written within the form of the great serpent Jormungand, the great dragon conquering the gripping animal grouping in a circular band about two inches wide, the design in the eternal triskell pattern. Inside of that, written in runes was the location of the gjallerhorn. At the center were nine swords pointing to an amber stone, nine strands over an open area, the stone center raised with a square notch in the back. It had to be positioned precisely at the solstice.

Promo + Review + Giveaway: Follow Your Arrow by A.M. Willard

Follow Your Arrow
All I wanted to do was run my bookstore, forget my failed marriage, and escape my past. But life on a tiny island makes that tough, especially when rumors are swirling that Justin Albott, famous mystery writer and my first love, is returning to the island.

I've watched his career. Stocked my bookstore with hardcovers that bear his glossy photo. There seems to be two sides to his personality. The online persona, who smiles when prompted, and the one that I remember—the thief of hearts. The one who just walked into my store and crooked that familiar grin.

We’ve both changed over the years. I'm no longer married, and he's no longer the boy who left me behind.

I’d give anything to know why he's really come back and if that kiss between us was real.

Although it isn't the five star I was hoping for, but it's still quite good. I enjoyed the story and loved all the characters. Everything is resolved in the end, however, ending feels a bit off to me. I don't want to give spoilers so won't say more than this. Overall, it's a sweet romantic story which, I think, all romance lovers will enjoy. There are some swoon-worthy scenes and also some very annoying ones, in short it's a great angsty novel.
Leslie runs her own bookstore which she inherited from her grandmother. To her it is home. She left her cheating ex-husband and has been living in relative peace since then. However, suddenly her peaceful existence is shaken up by Justin. Her high school sweetheart, one person she never got over, is back in town. She doesn't trust him, but most importantly she doesn't trust herself around him. He makes her feel so many emotions at the same time... he is dangerous and she is in trouble because no matter what she tells herself one thing is the same... she still feels attraction towards him, a pull that will not leave her alone.
Justin wants to leave the past in the past. However, as soon as he sees Leslie he realises that it won't happen. Past is very much a part of their present and no matter how much he wants to or try he simply cannot leave it behind. Can the have a second chance at happiness and make a life away from all the hurt and mystery? Or are they doom to repeat their past mistakes?
A great read, I find it thoroughly entertaining and would recommend to all contemporary romance readers.

Now Live: The Onyx Hourglass by Kristy Nicolle

The Ashen Touch Trilogy Book Two

Get it now!!!

It’s been six months since Xion and Haedes began their search for The Book of The Dead, and with the arrival of a warning from above, they know they can’t be far from their goal.

Meanwhile in Mortaria, Luce and Thane are left scrambling to keep things running, putting their relationship under more strain than ever before and making Luce question her ability to wield the dark magic she finds so alluring. Then there’s Pandora, who has been quiet ever since that night at the dark Colosseum, but why? Demon numbers are seemingly decreasing, and yet animalistic murders in downtown Chicago, which are leaving local authorities stumped, seem to indicate a shift in the way the Demon Lords are operating from the traditions they have observed for thousands of years.

Can Sephy be brought back?
And if she can, will she return as the sassy, sarcastic Sephy Sinclair we all know and love, or will something else entirely return from beyond the grave?

Review: Let Sleeping Dukes Lie (Rules of the Rogue #2) by Emily Windsor

Let Sleeping Dukes Lie (Rules of the Rogue, #2).

“Strait-laced. Ruthless. Arrogant.”
Alexander Westhide, the Duke of Rakecombe has no quarrel with such faint praise as he has forever shunned marriage, women and anything remotely resembling love. Indeed, the damning words merely serve to enhance his haughty facade. But beneath the controlled demeanour lies a duke beset by tragedy, a man turbulent and restless.

“Forthright. Impudent… Capricious saucebox.”
Miss Aideen Quinlan can’t quite express why she feels the need to taunt, tease and generally annoy the Duke of Rakecombe. Maybe it was for the heart-racing spar of words that always ensued, or maybe it was to see the duke’s broad fist clench on his ebony cane, green eyes glittering.
Or maybe it was because she was unable to erase the memory of his vehement kiss…

An unlikely couple.
Torn between his world of espionage and this unquenchable passion, the duke still refuses to lower his fierce defences.
If Aideen is to capture her resistant duke’s troubled heart, it is she who must follow the Rules of the Rogue.
Resistance is futile…

A sensual Regency Romance with warmth and wit, this story also includes unpalatable chefs, a darling of the Season with a secondary love story, deadly walking canes and sheep…

5-Stars Review

It's an amazing historical fictions, packed with mystery, thrill, romance, and lots of amusing banter between the "hellcat" and the "hellhound." In short, this book is perfect! Since the day I read book one in Rules of the Rogue series I've been waiting for Duke of Rakecombe and Miss Aideen Quinlan's story. They are both my favourite characters in this series and I know that their story would be great. They've chemistry, matching personalities, and so much to talk about. Apart from these exceptional characters, I enjoyed the story as well. It's good, very well-written novel. I think it is a must read for Regency fans. Both books in this series can be read as standalone.

Alexander's job is dangerous, being a spy is nothing to joke about and he knows that. This is the reason why he decided never to marry or have a family because he can never insure their safety. He is always scared that something bad will happen to people close to him, thus he doesn't let anyone get close enough to get hurt.... Until Aideen.... She refuses to be deterred by his snarly personality. In fact it seems that she quite enjoys riling the Duke of Rakecombe. Not that Alex minds it much because contrary to what he wants other to think the truth is that he too enjoys Aideen's hellish behavior. They are both a match made in hell. What starts as little teasing soon turns into something much more. Will they be able to work through their differences and live a happy life together or are they doomed to drive each other insane, literally? Well, we are about to find out... ;)

I think unlikely couples are the best kind. They made this story so much more fun to read. I enjoyed every single encounter between Alex and Aideen. They get on each others nerves, but their love is also quite evident. I'm glad that I got the chance to read it as I enjoyed it thoroughly.
P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book.

Review: The Angel Hunt (Dark World: The Angel Trials #2) by Michelle Madow

The hunt for demons is about to heat up.

Somehow Raven has convinced Noah and Sage—the two wolf shifters who saved her from a demon attack—to let her tag along on their quest to kill ten demons. The payoff for completing the mission? Entrance to the mystical island of Avalon, where Raven will go through trials to gain the strength she needs to save her mom’s life.

Raven wants to help the shifters on their quest. But Noah refuses to put her in any danger—which makes no sense, since he hates her. At least she thinks he hates her… until he catches her off guard and kisses her. Suddenly they’re connected in ways she doesn’t understand, and she feels closer to him than ever.

If she didn’t know any better, she’d think they imprinted on each other. But that’s impossible. Because shifters can’t imprint on humans.

And if they did imprint on each other, then the supernatural world is changing—and Raven’s right in the center of it.

Emotions will flare between Raven and Noah in the second book in The Angel Trials series, an urban fantasy adventure with romance, magic, and twists that will keep you reading long into the night!

It's an absolutely delightful read, I had loved book one and book two is just as amazing. The series continues with Noah, Sage, and Raven's mission of hunting demons. They all have their own reasons to be on demon hunt. Noah wants to join Earth Angel and protect the world from the evil of darkness. Raven wants to find her mother and find out why demons want her. While, Sage is helping Noah on his mission. Soon the three of them form a bond of friendship, they help each other and protect one anther in times of need. However, their quest is not an easy one. Demons are dangerous enough but now it seems that other supernatural creatures are also trying to get in their way. They remain determined though. Sooner or later they will complete their mission and find the answers that they seek...

Demons are planning something. All supernaturals are trying to prepare themselves for the coming war. In these dark times, Flint wants an alliance with the demons. He feels that he must choose the side which has highest probability or winning... whether it's right or wrong is not his concern. Now only if he could get his sister home, safe and sound so that he may go forward with this alliance and protect his pack against the demons.

It's a great story, very well-written, and I loved all the characters. Of course, Noah and Raven are my favourite. Although, it's an adventurous story, but romance side of it is good too. The chemistry between Noah and Raven is off the charts, not too mention whole can't-happen factor which makes it all the more thrilling. The unlikeliest couples are often the best. ;) Oh, also loved the little twist at the end. Now, I can't wait to read more about what is going to happen to our three favourite demon hunters. :)

P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book, for which I'd like to thank the author. I really enjoyed reading it.
